Chili

Mrs. W. H. Griffin

In 3 Tbsp fat, brown:

  • 1 lb ground meat
  • 1 chopped green pepper
  • 1 chopped large onion

Add:

  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 #2 can tomatoes
  • 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 3 whole cloves
  • 1-2 Tbsp chili powder

Simmer 2 hours, adding water if necessary.
