Swedish Meat Balls

La. O.E.S. Grand Chapter

Combine:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb ground pork
  • 1/2 cup minced onion
  • 3/4 cup fine dry bread crumbs
  • 1 Tbsp minced parsley
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup milk

Shape into small balls. Brown in 1/4 cup fat or vegetable oil. Remove from pan.

GRAVY:

Into the fat in the skillet, stir in:

  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp pepper

Stir in :

  • 2 cups boiling water or 1 cup water & 1 can tomato paste
  • 1/4 cup sour cream

Add meat balls; simmer 15 – 20 minutes. Serves 6 – 8
