  • 1 – 2 chopped onions
  • 1 – 4 buttons garlic, minced, optional

Sear in a little oil. Then add in 1 – 1 1/2 lb ground meat. Cook till all red color disappears. Then add in 1 – 2 chopped bell peppers, optional; sear just a little and add in:

  • 1 can tomatoes or 1 can tomato paste
  • 3 tomato paste cans of water
  • 1 can corn, optional
  • chili powder, approx 1/2 can, optional
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • pinch of sugar, optional

Cook about 30 minutes. May need a little water along. Mrs. Stewart adds about 6 Tbsp flour in the fat to sear the meat.

Add 1 package noodles and cook about 15 minutes more, or till noodles are tender, adding water as needed to keep from being too thick.

Pour in greased baking dish or may be divided into 2 smaller dishes and freeze one.  Place cheese slices on top.

Bake 10 – 15 minutes in moderate oven or just till cheese is melted.
