Place roast in roasting pan. Season both sides generously with:
- meat tenderizer, optional
- garlic powder
- onion salt
- any other seasonings you may desire
Cover and place in preheated oven, starting at 300°, gradually increasing to 350° after the first 30 minutes. Depending on size of roast and length of roasting time – but not over 350°. Bake from 2-3 hours, depending on the size of roast and doneness you desire, cooking in its own juices. May need to add a little water, but usually not.
For extra delicious gravy, add:
- 1 package dry onion soup mix
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- small amount of water
