Round Steak Superb

1 (1/2″ thick) beef round steak, cut into 6 serving pieces. Brown in 2 Tbsp shortening. Pour off excess fat.

Season with:

  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp pepper


  • 1 (2 oz) can mushrooms, stems and pieces
  • 1/2 cup chopped onions
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup water

Cover tightly and cook slowly 1 1/2 hours or till tender. Remove meat to heated platter.

To cooking liquid add:

  • 1/2 cup dairy sour cream
  • 1/3 cup crumbled blue cheese

Blend well. Cook just till heated through.

Serve over round steak.
