Peanut Butter Cookies

  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup shortening

Cream together well and add in:

  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 tsp vanilla (optional)

Cream till fluffy.

Stir in 1 cup crunchy peanut butter. Then sift together several times and add:

  • 3 cups sifted flour
  • 2 tsp soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Add gradually, mixing well.

Shape into small balls and place on ungreased cooky sheet and flatten with tines of fork dipped in water. Bake 10 minutes at 375­° to 400°.
