Cream:

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar

Add:

  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 3 Tbsp sweet milk
  • 1 cup wine or whiskey

Mix well.

Sift together:

  • 3 cups flour
  • 3 scant tsp soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Dredge chopped nuts and fruits in flour mixture:

  • 1 1/2 lbs shelled pecans (6 cups)
  • 4 cups shelled English walnuts
  • 1 cup black walnut meats
  • 1 lb white raisins
  • 2 lbs candied cherries
  • 2 lbs candied pineapple

Add to to creamed mixture and mix well. Drop on greased cookie sheet with teaspoon. Bake in 350 – 375° oven for 20 – 30 minutes. Store between layers of wax paper or foil in an air tight container for 2 or 3 weeks to mellow.  (Could sprinkle few drops of whiskey on every other layer of cookies.)
