Cherry-Nut Dainties

  • 1/2 cup oleo
  • 1/4 cup sugar

Cream thoroughly and add:

  • 1 egg YOLK
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 Tbsp orange rind, grated
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Beat well and Add 1 1/4 cups sifted cake flour, sifted with dash of salt.

Form into balls size of large marbles and dip into 1 egg white, slightly beaten. Roll in chopped nuts and place 1 1/2″ apart on a greased cookie pan. Press – HALF A CANDIED CHERRY on top of each cookie. Bake 20-25 minutes at 350°. Watch closely for they scorch easily.

Makes 3 1/2 dozen.
