Angel Bars

  • 1 1/2 cups sifted flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tap salt
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

Combine and firmly pack. Cut in 1/4 cup butter or oleo. Add 2 egg YOLKS which have been slightly beaten and mix until crumbly. Pack into a lightly greased 7 x 11″ pan.

Beat 2 egg whites until stiff. Add 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed; blend in thoroughly, then add:

  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Spread on top of crumb mixture. Bake at 325° for 30 minutes. Cut into bars and cool on racks. Makes 2 dozen.
