Preheat oven, 325° and grease loaf pan; line with wax paper. (Will keep several weeks)
Into medium size bow, sift
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 2/3 chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped dates
- 2 cups chopped nuts
- 1 cup candied cherries
Mix till all are well coated with flour.
In large bowl, mix at medium speed – 3 eggs, beat well. Gradually add in 1 cup sugar. Stir in flour mixture and turn into loaf pan.
Bake 1 1/2 hours or till done. When cool, wrap in foil.
Please note, this uses no shortening.
