Orange Cake

Cream together:

  • 5 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar

Then cream:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup butter

Mix all together.

To:

  • 3 cups flour, sift twice
  • 2 tsp baking powder, adding alternately with
  • 1 cup sweet milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Bake in 3 layers about 30 or 35 minutes.

ORANGE ICING:

  • juice of 1 lemon
  • juice, pulp and grated rind of 6 oranges
  • 1 – 1/4 cups sugar

Cook down and spread between layers and on top of cake. Let cake set 30 -40 minutes.
