Oatmeal Prune Cake

  • 1 1/2 cups boiling water
  • 1 cup oats

Put in bowl and let stand.

Meanwhile, cream together:

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup Wesson oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp soda
  • 1 cup prunes
  • 1 cup dates

Add oats and stir all together; put in pan and bake at 375° till done.

TOPPING:

  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1  tsp milk

Boil 1 minute and add 1 cup each of coconut and nuts. Spread on cake, then set back in oven and brown.
