Gold Cake

Cream together:

  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 2 cups sugar

Add:

  • 9 egg YOLKS

Sift together and add:

  • 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 3 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • pinch of salt

Add alternately with

  • 1 1/3 cups milk

Then add in

  • 1 tsp vanilla

She makes this cake at same time she makes a White cake, using the 7 whites in that cake, icing it with an icing using the other 2 whites – therefore using both yolks and whites of the 9 eggs.
