Milky Way Cake

Cake

  • 8 (1 3/4 oz) Milky Ways
  • 3 sticks butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 1/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Melt Milky Ways with 1 stick butter. Remove from fire and cool. Cream other 2 sticks of butter with sugar. Add beaten eggs and cooled chocolate mixture. Sift flour and baking soda together. Add flour and buttermilk alternately to the batter, mixing well. Add vanilla and nuts. Grease and flour three 9 inch cake pans. Bake at 325° for 30 to 45 minutes.

Icing

  • 2 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 cup marshmallow cream
  • 1 (6 oz) package chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Combine sugar and milk. Cook to a soft ball stage. Remove from heat and add butter, marshmallow cream and chocolate chips, stirring until all have melted. Add pecans.
