Peanut Patties

  • 2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 3/4 cup raw, shelled peanuts
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup white Karo syrup
  • 3 drops of red food coloring

Bring sugar, water, milk and syrup to a boil. Add raw peanuts and cook until a firm ball stage, 250°. Remove from heat and add vanilla and few drops of food coloring. Beat until creamy and it begins to thicken. Drop by teaspoons onto waxed paper.
