- 1 1/2 lb round steak (3/4 inch thick)
- 2 Tbsp shortening
- 1 cup condensed golden mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup chopped canned tomatoes
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 1/4 cup water
- Dash of pepper
Pound steak and cut into serving size pieces. In skillet, brown steak in shortening; pour off fat. Add remaining ingredients. Cover; cook over low heat 1 hour and 30 minutes or until tender. Stir occasionally. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
