Sausage Bread

  • 1 loaf of frozen bread
  • 1 lb pan sausage, mild
  • 1/2 bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 bunch green onions, chopped
  • 2 jalapeno peppers, sliced (fresh or can)
  • 1  8 oz grated cheddar cheese

Take out one loaf of the bread and let thaw in refrigerator, overnight, covered.

Cook sausage, bell pepper and onions. Drain. Let cool.

Grate cheese

Roll out bread on floured surface.

Put layer of cheese, then add meat mixture.

Put jalapeno peppers over meat mixture, then rest of cheese.

Stretch the bread over the filling.

Turn onto a greased cookie sheet. Let rise for 2 hours in a warm place.

Bake at 350° until brown.

Remove from oven and brush with butter.

Yield: 8 servings
